Day of the Dragon: Vereesa's first troll sighting

Description

This scene was alerted to me by :iconkiwikink:, an oldie but a goldie.. from the Warcraft book "Day of the Dragon", naturally copyrighted to Blizzard. The scene itself wasn't as detailed or as expressive as I would've liked to see, but it was still pretty clear. That said, I loved the idea and I was surprised to see no one I could find had either brought this scene to the attention of the community, and nobody attempted a pic of it either (to my knowledge). I couldn't wait to have someone else do their rendition of it (not to mention how its a major pain to find artists who will do CID lol), so I had to draw it up myself. You can read through the CID scene here: www.e-reading.club/bookreader.… on page 133-136 yourself. Alas, its a shame my own art doesn't do anything for me though..

Anyway, what you're seeing here is the CID scene of Falstad Wildhammer (the Dwarf) and Vereesa Windrunner (the High Elf) who were captured by a trio of hungry Trolls, and rather securely bound in ropes neither of them could even budge, as well as gagged in some fashion.. (the story doesn't clarify how) and obviously in dire straits in being in such a situation. Apparently this was Vereesa's first run-in, or sighting in general of any Trolls at all, and needless to say you can see it didn't go very well for her.. or her Dwarven ally. But if you read through the scene, you see that they make it out ok.

That said, this was another one of those book scenes I loved enough to the point where I had to draw it up.. not to mention how I've been familiar with both these characters and the setting for many years now. Some side notes: I did remove Vereesa's shoulderguards because they'd cause some trouble in drawing them, so then I tweaked her hood a bit, but made her wear it down so we can see her hair.

A little bit of text I'd add to my version of the story-

"Something to the ranger's right suddenly let out what would have been quite a telling epithet if not for the
gag that smothered the words. Twisting her head as best as the carefully tied ropes allowed her, Vereesa
saw that Falstad, too, still lived, albeit for how long she could not say. Rumors had long persisted, even
before the days of the Troll Wars, that these hideous creatures saw anything other than themselves as fair
game for food. Even the orcs, who had accepted them as allies, had been said to ever keep one eye on
the nimble, cunning fiends." (from the actual story, a jumping off point)

"Mmmm.." Vereesa muttered into her gag, her speech muffled by the cloth of what seemed to be a scrap of what remained of some prior victim's clothing.. The expertly tied ropes below her breasts creaked a little as she felt her thoughts wandering "Dessert?.. this is how my first encounter with these savages plays out..". The Elven Ranger's slim, but curvy form chafed slightly underneath the thick hemp, she was far from used to being bound like this as another thought came to her mind "Dammit Rhonin.. we could really use you right about now.." she felt another muttering slip through her lips and into the cloth gag as she thought about the human man in question "Mmmph..".

Aaaaand well there you have it all, inspiration struck, I cranked it out and bam, a pretty solid result I think. Thanks to :iconkiwikink: for bringing this one up though. Let me know what you think! hope you like.

I also hope others might do a rendition of the lovely lady elf Vereesa's first DID :p

Haha, thanks for the shout out ... you did a fantastic job on this, love the poses of both captives, and you did a great job with the trolls too. Great work :D
